Hypebeast read it as calmer and more commercial than Demna’s earlier Gucci shows. In my view, that is exactly the point. Gucci has been through a long sales slump, and a store show sells. The search data tells the same story. On Google Trends, worldwide interest in “gucci demna” hit 99 to 100 on 26 September. By contrast, “milan fashion week spring 2027” sat at 10 to 13 on the same days. So the week’s search story was one designer, not the event.

You do not need to wait for spring to try the Gucci shoulder. First, look for a blazer with a firm, slightly raised shoulder pad. Then keep everything below it narrow, such as a pencil skirt or slim trousers. Finally, add one belt at the waist rather than three. The shape does the talking, so the color can stay quiet.

On day one, the blog Funky Forty reviewed Prada’s show. It saw colorful pumps everywhere, pop socks and classic knitted knee-highs. It also wrote that fuchsia is making a strong comeback. Versace did not show at Milan Fashion Week Spring 2027. Its creative director, Pieter Mulier, will present his first Versace collection in 2027, according to The Fashion Spot’s schedule guide. Emporio Armani also skipped the runway and chose a presentation.

The rest of the calendar held its big names. According to The Fashion Spot, Prada and Diesel showed on the 22nd and Fendi on the 23rd. Max Mara followed on the 24th, then Gucci and Moschino on the 25th. Bottega Veneta and Dolce & Gabbana took the 26th. Giorgio Armani showed on Sunday 27 September under Silvana Armani. The last day is quieter. On Monday 28 September, every show in the official Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana calendar is digital. In other words, Milan ends on screens, which is where I live anyway.
