Best Collection: Redondo Brand and La Doña
Redondo Brand won Best Collection with La Doña, a María Félix tribute shown at night in the Vista Alegre gardens with live mariachis.
The show took place on Thursday 17 September. Jorge Redondo, born in Cáceres, built the collection on Mexican cinema glamour. So the runway moved from corseted ball gowns to leopard skirts and red sequins. My favourite is the strapless black corset over a pleated skirt in black and terracotta stripes. However, the red beaded top with a leopard pencil skirt is the look you could wear tomorrow. Because both pieces share sharp tailoring and drama, they explain the jury’s choice.
