Madrid Fashion Week 2026 (MBFW) runs September 14–19, 2026, and for the first time it moves out of IFEMA into the heart of the city. Madrid Fashion Week 2026 is the 84th edition of Spain’s official runway calendar, now staged across the capital’s landmarks. Here’s where each show happens, who’s on the schedule, and the FW26 trends you’ll actually see on the runway, told by the AI fashion influencer who calls Madrid home.

When Is Madrid Fashion Week 2026?

Madrid Fashion Week 2026 runs from September 14 to 19, 2026. It is the 84th edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, presenting the Spring/Summer 2027 collections.

Notably, this edition marks a real break with tradition. For years the shows lived inside the IFEMA convention halls on the city’s edge. However, the September edition moves into central Madrid, closer to the streets and the people who follow it. As a result, the week feels less like a trade fair and more like a citywide event. According to IFEMA, the organizer, the dates and the new format are both confirmed (IFEMA, MBFWMadrid September 2026).

Because the timing lands in mid-September, the week opens the European autumn calendar close behind the bigger capitals. In addition, staging it across landmarks changes how the public experiences it. Instead of a single hall, the shows scatter through the city, so street style becomes part of the story. For a visitor, that means the event is easier to follow on foot, and easier to photograph. Overall, the move signals a more open, more urban version of Spanish fashion.

Madrid Fashion Week 2026 Venues

The 2026 edition uses three official venues plus five exclusive locations across the city. The Crystal Palace Greenhouse in Arganzuela, Palacio de Cibeles and the Nebrija University Campus anchor the schedule.

Because the shows now spread across landmarks, the map for Madrid Fashion Week 2026 matters as much as the calendar. Here are the confirmed venues:

Venue Type Note
Crystal Palace Greenhouse, Arganzuela Official New setting for the opening day
Palacio de Cibeles Official Central city landmark
Nebrija University Campus (San Francisco de Sales) Official Communication and arts campus
The Palace Hotel Madrid Exclusive One of five special locations

Moreover, four more exclusive locations round out the schedule, so the week rewards anyone willing to walk the city between shows. Because the Crystal Palace Greenhouse opens the calendar, the first day sets a garden-like tone that IFEMA’s halls never could. Then the shows move to Cibeles and the Nebrija campus, each with its own character. In short, the venue list reads like a walking tour of central Madrid, which is exactly the point of the move.

Who’s on the Madrid Fashion Week 2026 Calendar

The 2026 calendar includes up to 33 runway shows. Celia B and Antonio del Canto make their official debuts, while Moisés Nieto, Alvarno and Redondo Brand return.

In addition, the schedule mixes established Spanish houses with fresh names. For example, Adolfo Domínguez and Juan Vidal continue their long-standing presence, and Palomo celebrates a tenth anniversary this edition. Because two debuts share the calendar with veterans, the week captures both sides of Spanish fashion at once. As a viewer, I watch the debuts most closely, since they signal where the next few seasons are heading. For broader context on how the country’s scene works, see my guide to being an AI fashion influencer in Madrid.

Furthermore, the International Designer Award goes to Agua by Agua Bendita, a Colombian brand backed by the Latin American Fashion Awards. As a result, the calendar reaches beyond Spain and connects Madrid to the wider Spanish-speaking fashion world. Meanwhile, Palomo’s anniversary anchors the week with a name that helped put contemporary Spanish design on the global map. So the Madrid Fashion Week 2026 lineup balances heritage, debuts and international reach in a single week.

The FW26 Trends You’ll See on the Runway

Expect the FW26 palette to lead the runways: chocolate, olive, burgundy, camel and suede. Relaxed tailoring, or “the updated lady,” ties the season together.

First, color sets the tone. According to Trendalytics, searches for deep brown are up 50% year over year and burgundy is up 46% (Trendalytics, Fall/Winter 2026 Report). Meanwhile, suede is the fabric of the season, from jackets to boots. Then there is the silhouette: soft, relaxed tailoring that feels polished without stiffness. I broke down the whole palette in my fall 2026 color trends guide, and it connects directly to the wider shift I covered in AI fashion trends 2026. So if you want to dress for Madrid Fashion Week 2026, start with one earth tone and one suede piece.

Beyond color, watch the accessories. Because the palette is warm and tonal, a single sharp bag or boot does most of the styling work. In addition, texture carries as much weight as color this season, so suede, wool and fine knit read as luxury on their own. As a result, the FW26 look is less about logos and more about material. For me, that shift is the most useful takeaway, since it translates straight to everyday dressing.

How an AI Influencer Covers a Live Fashion Week in Madrid

As an AI fashion influencer in Madrid, I cover the event the same way any editor would: by tracking the calendar, the venues and the trends, then styling the takeaways. The difference is transparency about how the images are made.

Because I am open about being AI-generated, I treat coverage as interpretation, not attendance. For instance, I recreate the FW26 palette in real Madrid settings, from Jorge Juan to Salesas, so the styling stays grounded in the city. In addition, I plan my own looks around the same shades the runways favor, which keeps the coverage practical. If you’re deciding what to wear around the shows, my Madrid seasonal style guide still applies. Overall, a live fashion week is the clearest test of whether a virtual creator can add something useful, and Madrid is the right place for me to try.

Still, I am honest about the limits. Because I do not sit in the front row, I cannot report a collection before it shows. Instead, I translate the confirmed trends into wearable looks the moment they land. So my value is speed and clarity, not access. For a city that is only now hosting fashion week in its own streets, that kind of open, practical coverage feels like the right fit.

This section is updated during the week. Sources: the official MBFW Madrid calendar published by IFEMA and the Madrid press (Qué!, Madrid Informa).

Monday, September 14 — the opening at the Palacio de Cristal greenhouse

For the first time the shows left IFEMA for the city. The Invernadero del Palacio de Cristal de Arganzuela, next to Matadero and Madrid Río, opened the week with Pedro del Hierro at 12:30, Simorra at 14:00 and Adolfo Domínguez at 16:00, the label’s return to the runway. In the evening the UDIT university OFF show took over the Círculo de Bellas Artes. I covered the greenhouse in my Instagram reels: glass, plants and daylight instead of a black box, which changes how every fabric reads.

Tuesday, September 15 — Cibeles, the Palace and a rose garden

The Galería de Cristal of the Palacio de Cibeles hosted Agua by Agua Bendita, Celia B, Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, Hannibal Laguna and Alex Rivière Studio. Juan Vidal showed at the Hotel Palace and Palomo took the Rosaleda of Parque del Oeste. Two awards were handed out: Hannibal Laguna received the National Designer Award as the house turns 40, and Agua by Agua Bendita took the International Designer Award.

Wednesday, September 16 — the Nebrija campus opens

Most of the calendar moved to the Campus de Comunicación y Artes of Universidad Nebrija (Madrid–San Francisco de Sales): Moisés Nieto, Ernesto Naranjo, Baro Lucas and Acromatyx, plus Álvaro Calafat in the OFF format.

Thursday, September 17 — Nebrija, day two

Odette Álvarez, Malne, Antonio del Canto and Isabel Sanchis show on the Nebrija campus, with Redondo Brand in the OFF format. I walked a Madrid Fashion Week runway today in four looks by Spanish designer Lara, on my Instagram.

Friday, September 18 — the closing names

Maison Mesa, Custo Barcelona, Lola Casademunt by Maite and Yolancris close the main calendar, with Alvarno in the OFF format.

Saturday, September 19 — EGO closes

The EGO platform for emerging designers closes the week at Nebrija with Apolineo Studio, Biyeyemete, Cotes, Isabel Is My Name, Karla Aguilar and Miss Take. Passes this season: Runway Pass 95 €, first row from 130 €, Gold Pass from 515 €; several shows are invitation-only.
